Over the last few years, there has been a sharp growth in online services and an increasingly large amount of data is stored online. We store our mails on Gmail, post pictures to Flickr, bookmark sites on Delicious, have blogs on Blogger, keep documents in Google Docs and tweet with Twitter. Backupify provides an easy way to backup our data on numerous online services.
Backupify is an online backup service that allows you to backup data from the following supported web applications:

After signing up, provide the login details of your various web accounts that you want to backup. Then choose the frequency of backups, either daily or weekly, and Backupify will automatically backup your data and send email notifications whenever backups are done.
You can access your backups, download them to your computer and even restore your backups should something bad happen to your account.
Backupify is free if you signup before January 31, 2010.

It's really great but is it safe to provide our login details to backupify ? If there is any trust factor then please mention it in the article as well.

It depends on the service. Most services work like Flickr, Twitter, and Facebook where you authenticate one time through Backupify, and they pass us a "token." This token is a unique identifier that allows us to pull in your data without sending your login credentials. For those services, we do not store your login credentials. There are a few services that don't offer this kind of authentication (Gmail, Hotmail) and for those we have to store your username and password to back them up. When we do that, we use advanced encryption methods to keep your login credentials safe.
Backupify is as safe as Gmail and Hotmail. I mean, both store your passwords; the only difference is Backupify is a third party service. As long as they don't leak your passwords to others, which I can't see why they would, Backupify is pretty safe.
If you are worried, don't give your Gmail password. Use this or this to backup your mail and use Backupify to backup Flickr, Twitter etc that doesn't store passwords.
