CPU Usage Monitor and Logger

CPU Usage Logger is a simple program that provides a means for developers and software testers to monitor and log CPU usage (utilization) for any period of time. This open source, portable application that weights just 65KB, is also capable of calculating the moving average of CPU utilization and logging the same to a text file.

The program breaks down the CPU usage trend in brackets of ten, showing the percentage of utilization falling under a particular bracket. For example, in the screenshot above the CPU was under 10% ~ 20% utilization for 53.19% of the time while 6.38% of the time is was between 40% to 50% utilization.

CPU Usage Logger calculates a 5-second moving average by averaging 10 samples taken at 500ms intervals. The data is optionally logged to a tab-delimited log file which can be easily importable into MS Excel for further trending and analysis.
