Mozilla’s insecure plug-in check for all browsers

Mozilla has introduced a service that allows users of other browsers – Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera and Safari, to test whether they are running bug-free versions of plug-ins on their browsers.

The service checks to see if the plug-ins installed are out-of-date and whether they contain any vulnerabilities that could compromise the security of the user, or lead to browser instability. The service currently offers limited support to Internet Explorer since “IE requires specific code to be written for each plugin”, which isn’t surprising. Coding for IE has always been a nuisance.
