After the first month, you’ll be charged the normal subscription rate.

According to the announcement, Skype is offering up to 60 minutes free calls to Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Japan, Honduras, Paraguay, Serbia and Uruguay; 120 minutes free calls to Mexico, Nigeria, Slovenia, South Africa and Switzerland; 400 minutes free calls to Brazil; and unlimited free calls to Argentina, Australia, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, UK and USA. An undisclosed fair usage policy applies to unlimited calls, as expected.

Details are available on the promotion page.

You can’t help but notice that the promotion comes two days after Google voice opened up to the US public. Coincidence? Could be.
