Jump Control adds shutdown, restart, sleep and logoff to Windows 7 taskbar

Jump Control is a simple tool that lets you shutdown, restart, hibernate, sleep, lock, logoff or switch user on a Windows 7 machine from the taskbar. Although these options are readily available on the start menu and an extra click or two won’t actually kill you, having a shutdown button on the taskbar can’t be a bad thing.

Simply drag the executable to Windows 7’s taskbar and pin it. A nice blue shutdown button will appear on the taskbar.

Right-click on the button to reveal a JumpList. On this list you will find several options to power-off your computer. The latest release of Jump Control has an option to restart Windows Explorer too. I’m not sure why the developer added it, but it will sure come handy after you have edited a registry key pertaining to explorer and need to restart explorer in order to put the registry change to effect. A click on the ‘Restart explorer’ will take care of it.

A left-click on the button opens the option window from which you can select which buttons to display. That’s about sums up Jump Control.

    any way to pin in it at the left side of the taskbar?

    Right click on the taskbar and uncheck 'Lock taskbar'. Then drag the icon to any position you want. Then Lock the taskbar again.
