Forget Powerpoint. Create Presentations on PDF with PDFrizator

PDFrizator is a freeware tool that lets you assemble a collection of images and convert it into a PDF file. But PDFrizator is not your usual PDF creation tool because you are able to include within the file creative page transition effects, page advance time, and even a background music. The final result is a sleek auto-playing presentation.

PDFrizator can convert existing PDF files into PDF presentations, and even combine multiple PDF files and images into a single PDF file. In short, it is a perfect tool to rapidly, and visually, create PDF files.

Unlike Microsoft PowerPoint or similar presentation creating tools, PDFrizator does not have an editor where you can create slides. The slides has to be created beforehand using an image editor and saved in any of the supporting image formats, which is almost all the major ones – BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF and additionally PDF, and comic book format CBR and CBZ.

Once you have the prepared slides, add them to PDFrizator. You can visually sort them by dragging them around in the workspace, rotate, flip or crop them. Using the options on the right you can add display duration in seconds, page transition effects to each individual slide or all slides together. You can also load an MP3 or WMA file as background music for the slide. The lack of any kind of preview for the effects leads to certain amount of trouble, as you are unsure how the slide will look until you have actually saved and run it.

One drawback is that the PDF presentation works only on Adobe Reader. I tried it on Foxit Reader and although it opened the PDF file, it wasn’t able to play the presentation. Also when you save the file just make sure to set the presentation mode to YES, otherwise the presentation would not launch by itself.

Here is a demo PDF presentation created using PDFrizator.
