A USB Plug That Can Be Inserted Both Ways

How many times have you struggled with your USB key trying to force it into the USB port the wrong way up? Almost every single time, in my case. Now designer Ma Yi Xuan has showcased a new concept design for a USB plug that can be inserted either way.

The Double U USB port has two contact layers, any of which can be pushed into the plug to reveal the metallic contact on the other. This means that no matter which way you insert the plug into the USB port, one set of contact will always be in contact.

Although still merely a concept, this is a brilliant invention and should the Double U USB port make it to the market, it’ll be a huge hit.
