“Duty Calls” is Hilarious Parody Game For “Call of Duty”

Epic Games has unveiled, what could be called, one of the most epic promotional campaign ever for a videogame. The game house, best known for the Unreal and Gears of War series, has created a cheeky new game Duty Calls that takes a stab at the rather successful Call Of Duty franchise while promoting their own soon-to-be-released videogame Bulletstorm.

This entertaining FPS ridicules a lot of the CoD series' conventions and succeeds at exploiting its flaws for the player's amusement. For instance, the mission objective is heard over the radio from the commander as "Blah blah blah... secret base. Blah blah blah... nuclear missile bomb. Blah blah blah... counting on you. Good luck."

The shots fired from the gun are voiced over with “boring, boring,..”, then, of course, there is this arbitrary and most ridiculous ranking system.

Unfortunately, the game is rather short – can be completed in under 5 to 10 minutes – yet exceedingly large to download – 700 MB! But the 10 minutes of CoD bashing that is delivers is spot-on. If 700 MB for 10 minutes gameplay is too much, watch the video of the entire play-through of the game, below.
