How to Quickly Create Titled Slides in PowerPoint

One of the most popular software in business and educational institutions and favorite accessory to business meetings and classrooms is Microsoft PowerPoint. And as we say in business, time is money, and business managers and students alike are always trying to find ways to do things more efficiently and swiftly. One way they could save time is if they can figure out how to create dozens and dozens of PowerPoint slides quickly.

The typical way to create slides is to open PowerPoint and type the slide title directly on the slide, and then click on ‘New slide’ button and type the title of the second slide on the new slide and then again click on ‘New slide’ button and type the title of the third slide and so on. That’s one way to do it but it’s a slow process. I will show you two methods by which you can create slides more automatically.

Create a new slide with each of your slide titles as bullets on a list. Go to the ‘Outline’ tab in the left sidebar, select the bullet list and press Shift+Tab.

This will automatically create a set of new slides with each of the bullet points as the title.

One thing to keep in mind is when you do this, the bullets from the original slide are erased and moved into their own slides. If you need to retain the first slide make a copy of it before you create the slides automatically. Another thing is the bullet points that gets added to each title. You need to remove them manually. If that sounds counter productive, there is yet another way to create titled slides quickly – without those bullet points.

Go to the ‘Outline’ tab and simply type the slide title and keep pressing Enter to create a new slide, just like you do in a Word document. To create the body of the slide, press CTRL+Enter and type directly in the outline view. This way it’s easier to create slides than navigating around with your mouse.
